On Hasenpfeffer

“The man who chases two rabbits, often catches neither and goes hungry.”

I'm reminded of the old Bugs Bunny cartoons where Bugs always outsmarts his foe. Time and time again Bugs' nemesis tries to 'catch that screwy wabbit' or is looking to end Bugs' life and turn him into supper.

It has occurred to me laterly that perhaps I've been trying to be 'too smart' by chasing two rabbits at the same time. Focusing on both strength-gains (building muscle mass) and on fat loss (as measured by percent body fat) is theoretically possible but for me it seems this is the proverbial 'Holy Grail' or unattainable prey. Such 'rabbits' can be quick.

So I'm now focused on fat loss. I hope not to loose any muscle, of course. But I'm no longer going after two diametrically opposite goals simultaneously. Looking to do a little more precise calorie counting, portions control, and meal planning. Time to keep the inTENsity level up and the sweat flow'n.

Oh yeah ... Does anyone have a good recipe for hasenpfeffer?
